I’ve been putting forth every effort to combat this infection, aiming to spare everyone further disappointment through additional postponements and cancellations. However, after enduring the challenges of the recent performances and consulting my doctor. It’s regrettably clear that pushing through to deliver a quality show for all of you is no longer feasible.
Williams emphasized that her health was at risk of enduring “long-term damage,” and she expressed her commitment to prioritizing her well-being at this moment. She conveyed sincere apologies to those who patiently navigated through the rescheduling and potential changes in travel plans. Stating, “We deeply regret any inconvenience this may have caused. Physically, I’m unable to proceed. I understand this isn’t positive news for anyone, and I’m immensely grateful for your unwavering support.

Following their performance in Seattle, Williams shared candid insights on her personal Instagram stories before issuing an official statement via Paramore’s official accounts. She candidly addressed the situation, revealing, “My lungs are regrettably not healing at the desired pace, resulting in challenges.” She also acknowledged, “Things took a slightly alarming turn tonight.”
Williams further communicated, “I’m aware that some of you are already set up in Portland, and I wanted to provide clarity. I’m truly sorry for the disruption and uncertainty this may have caused. I genuinely fought to overcome this obstacle.”
Having completed over 30 shows as part of the “This Is Why” tour, Paramore has encountered an unexpected roadblock. Despite this setback, the band is scheduled to resume the tour later this fall with a series of international dates.
